Players Selected for The Maccabiah Games

Huge congratulations to Game4Padel members Andrew Chaytow and Mark Rubens, of Huddersfield Lawn Tennis & Squash Club (HLTSC), who, after trials in London, have been selected to represent Team GB in the Maccabiah Games 2022 in Israel.

First held in 1932, The Maccabiah Games, often referred to as the ‘Jewish Olympics’, are an international Jewish and Israeli multi-sport event held every four years in Israel. Some 10,000 athletes from 80 countries take part. The third-largest sporting event in the world, the Maccabiah Games, under the auspices and supervision of the International Olympic Committee, are open to Jewish athletes from around the world, as well as to all Israeli athletes regardless of ethnicity or religion. Arab Israelis also compete in the games.

Andrew and Mark have been coached at Huddersfield by Game4Padel coach Nick Holloway (pictured) for approximately a year. Since we partnered with HLTSC and provided an all weather canopy, the pair have been able to train weekly and in all seasons. Nick tells us that Andrew and Mark have shown commitment and determination at every session – continually analysing their game and making huge improvements along the way. We wish them every success, and will report on their progress!
