From Edinburgh to Penarth, Ipswich to Newquay, our UK Tour Manager, James Rose has been rocking up at Game4Padel destinations as our expansion plans begin to take shape.
I caught up with James backstage to ask him about his first padel summer tour:
‘It is exhilarating to see padel finally coming to the UK. The essence of padel – fun, fast, easy to pick up and social is why it is proving to be so appealing. I find it energising to see players coming to the sport for the first time, laughing, smiling and meeting new people at the same time as learning a new game.
We have just passed our 1000th booking at Withdean Sports Complex, Brighton where we installed a pop-up court in November. Actively promoting padel through venue openings, introductory sessions, developing our Game4Padel Coaching Pathway, working closely with our partner venues… means interest is gaining momentum.
And it is so satisfying to welcome players to our padel community – young and old, sports clubs and schools, families and friends – all coming together through this amazing game.’
Padel – like rock ‘n’ roll – is definitely here to stay! Next up? Broxbourne Sports Club!
