Promotion for G4P Thistle Women

We've more success to report for our Game4Padel community, this time it's the promotion of the G4P Thistle Women's team at the LTA National League Division Two Finals.

The team gained promotion to Division One thanks to their performances at the event held at the National Tennis Centre last weekend.

Thistle won their group stage on Saturday thanks to victories over Hurlingham and Oxshot before playing West of Scotland in the semi-finals and winning.

In the final, they met Hurligham once again, with the matches being split and going to a shoot out. Thistle lost by the tightest of margins (10-8) but took silver and promotion to Division One for next season.

Captain Claire McCulloch, said: "We had a such a great weekend down at the NTC and I'm so proud of all the girls who played so well.

"We're thrilled with our promotion and looking forward to testing ourselves at that slightly higher level next year.

"Huge congratulations to Hurlingham who were a brilliant opponent in the final and we look forward to playing again next season."

The Thistle team consisted of Claire McCulloch (capt), Eva Vrhunec, Mhairi Beattie, Michelle McCallum and Emma Birch.
