Competitions fuelling Community Spirit at G4P

At Game4Padel, we're passionate about buidling thriving, social communites at our clubs across the country. Hear from our Competitions Manager, Neil Harden, about the importance of competition for all levels in driving this.

Back in 2022, I was proud of Game4Padel’s efforts to start our competitions programme and knew we were planting a seed with 30 entrants at our first weekend event in December.

Little did I know, this would just be the beginning. Fast forward to 2025, where we ran 75 events across our UK venues, welcoming over 1,300 entrants to our competitions throughout the year.

And this growth isn’t just a statistic. It’s a reflection of the huge amount of work the G4P team is doing to grow our community.

We know that padel is naturally social and the beauty of the sport is that it’s accessible for anyone, no matter your sporting prowess or how competitive you want to make things.

For those that do want some friendly competition, we know that structured leagues and tournaments takes the social benefits of padel and helps to build on it.

Our programme of leagues and competitions helps build an engaged community that gets a chance to meet and play with people they wouldn’t usually share a court with and ally this with a real sense of progression and achievement.

In turn, they develop shared moments of real joy and use padel to create lasting friendships and belonging to the G4P community.

A core focus for us is to ensure that our competitions feel welcoming, rather than daunting. We know that not everyone wants to play elite-level sport and that’s absolutely fine.

It’s why we place a huge emphasis on ensuring our leagues and competitions offer something for everyone. Be that high-end matches or competitive matches with a more fun and relaxed feel.

For example, last year, we setup the inaugural Scottish County Cup, welcoming top pairs from across the country to play in both the men’s and women’s event across a weekend at our Great Western Golf venue.

The aim for us is simple and that’s to get more people enjoying padel and all the associated benefits it brings.

All of this doesn’t happen by accident and it’s testament to the hard work and passion of the team that we’ve managed to jump from two to 75 events in three short years.

We’re not stopping there either. Our ambition is to continue to grow our offering across our G4P clubs, creating even more inclusive entry points for all players and helping to raise standards of organisation and experience for padel players across the UK.

We’re planning to double the number of events across the UK this year and expand our County Cup by adding in an event for seniors too.

The growth we’ve seen shows the long-term appetite for competitive padel and I’m excited that Game4Padel is at the forefront of driving this forward.
